Q: What does the handwritten date on the egg carton stand for? Usually that means expiration. Please clarify because I am confused on this. The last three cartons I ordered were dated two or three days before the delivery date. Does this mean that the freshness of the eggs had expired? Thanks.

A: The date on the tag is the day we gathered them and washed/packed them. From the date listed the eggs are good for 45 days witch is when they would be expired. We gather daily and usually when purchased they are only a couple days old.

Q: are these washed in anything? what is the diet for the chickens? are they free range?

A: Yes the eggs are washed in water because we follow the Hamilton county health permits. The chickens are free range and we feed them corn we raise on our farm.
